Ahoy Mateys! Come Sail on Kalmar Nyckel, the Tall Ship of Delaware. Landlubbers — come walk the plank of this authentic seagoing re-creation of a 17th-Century Dutch Pinnace. Their crew don pirate and sailor garb, and guests are encouraged to dress up as well! The kids will enjoy a pirate story or help raise the Jolly Roger, and the adults will enjoy a history talk. Both kids and adults can try their hand at a scavenger hunt with a treasure at the end! See the ship’s cannons and imagine being at the helm of this magnificent vessel. Join their captain and a crew of salty pirates for a festive experience on the high seas!
May 2021 Zone Sails in Wilmington: Available only by phone: 302-429-7447, Monday-Friday, 9am – 5pm
- Sails are limited to 25 passengers grouped in 5 Zones (diagram above), with 2-5 people per Zone for social distancing.
- Minimum purchase 2 tickets at $40 per ticket.
- Groups will rotate so that everyone gets the full experience.
- Ship crew may pass closer than 6 feet to operate the ship safely.
The ship is not wheelchair accessible. Please call before you purchase your tickets to see if they can accommodate your needs at 302-429-7447.
COVID-19 Measures: For the safety of all involved, our programs conform to the latest public heath guidelines.
- Masks must be worn at all times on the ship and our maritime campus.
- Sailing passengers must be age 5 or older.
- Please do not come sail if you are sick or have been exposed to someone who has been sick or tested positive for COVID-19.
- Bring hand sanitizer and wear weather appropriate clothing.
- Eating onboard is not allowed. We are not selling water, soft drinks or snacks this year.
- Increased disinfecting is scheduled before each sail. Hand sanitizer is available onboard.
