On Saturday, September 18, 2021, LCS celebrates its 30th annual Hunger Walk/Run! Participants can walk, run, or just go to have fun getting to know Lutheran Community Services. The 5K walk/run from the church to Talley Day Park and back offers friendly competition from adults and kids alike. Even for those who do not participate in the walk/run, they’ll have outdoor activities, music, food, a raffle, and tours of the Shepherd’s Garden. It’s a great way to spend time outside with others and make a difference in our community.
Those who fundraise for the event engage with their personal communities to support LCS and our mission to help provide essential needs. Form a team with your church, work, or other group! They also invite you to bring non-perishable foods to help fill their new van. All funds raised for the Walk/Run go to LCS’ food programs, which operate 14 food distributions, the Delaware Food Farmacy, and deliveries to low-income senior living centers.
The event begins at 9:00 a.m., with the walk/run starting at 10:00 a.m. Activities continue after the walk/run.
