Description

Local Photographer Andre’ Wright Jr., will launch the “HERO” Photo Exhibition, inspired by black-and-white documentary aesthetic of the 1960s, October 8, 2021.

Inspired by film-making, Wright Jr. took his film ideologies and adapted those visions into Still Photography. After 3 years of film boot camp and photography training, Wright, Jr created his “Color of Life”(COL) brand.   COL is a multifaceted branding agency specializing in brand development. Wright Jr. has had the opportunity to work for VIBE Magazine, YRB Magazine, MUTE Magazine, Universal Music Group (Geffen Records), and Major League Entertainment. He has also had the pleasure to photograph the likes of Common, Brett Ratner, Kanye West, Stat Quo, Meek Mills, Al Roker, and many others. Later, he began working with Celebrity Photographer Johnny Nunez on events for Russell Simmons “Art for Life” campaign, Jay-z’ Made in America Concert and Hot 97’s Summer Jam.

In June 2017, Wright started diving into the world of Comic Con (an International comic book convention), traveling from Philadelphia to Chicago to Saudi Arabia, documenting the super heroes from the movies we love to watch. Being the only black photographer, Wright, Jr. knew his place as a Hero on set, where he loves to capture the emotion and passion of his subjects. The “HERO” photo exhibition will highlight these on screen heroes and honor his real life Hero Sharon L. Wright, his mother who passed in July from Melanoma Cancer.

“Photography is my passion, I want to inspire and motivate the creatives by using my artistry to show them something great”, says, Wright, Jr.

Determined to be an unstoppable force, Wright, Jr. recently experienced a house fire resulting in him losing everything.  Refusing to quit, he was determined not to allow this circumstance to define who he is or his future.  Andre’ found the silver lining in the situation, a way to inspire the next creative, a way to use his creative vision to motivate, and a way to use his artistry to find his way through this life changing event.

The “HERO” exhibition show will also feature a Limited Edition Color of Life merchandise collection including T-shirts, stickers, and a photo style coffee table book for purchase. So, grab a friend, get your Goobers and Popcorn, and come enjoy the show!
