Description

This has been a difficult year for our community. The Museum is committed to helping Wilmingtonians by volunteering and supporting our partners One Village Alliance and West Side Grows. We invite you to join us by helping with the efforts below.

*Donate School Supplies to Students in Need*
Now through January 18
School may look different this year, but students still need supplies to help them learn. One Village Alliance will distribute donations to students who need them in 2021. Drop off new or like-new supplies at the Museum before January 18, during open hours.

*Purchase an Art Kit for a Family*
Help bring creativity to a family in need this year by donating a Museum Art Kit full of fun art supplies and a project inspired by the museum’s collection.
$20 Donation provides an art kit for 1 family: https://delart.org/support/donate/

*Volunteer to Beautify the Freedom Center*
Monday, January 18 | 9:15 am – 1 pm
One Village Alliance has moved into a new Freedom Center on 31st and Market Streets and needs help making the new space beautiful. Individuals, pods, or household groups will work outside, socially distanced, to paint walls, chalk messages of peace, and help out with exterior cleanup. Dress warm and wear your mask!
Pre-registration for a time slot required. Register to volunteer: https://bit.ly/2KKXUFy

*Volunteer with Westside Grows Community Clean Up and MLK Peace March*
Monday, January 18 | 10 am – 3 pm
Join Westside Grows for their annual Community Clean Up and MLK Peace March. Volunteers will be cleaning and beautifying local parks at 10 am. At 2 pm participants can meet at either the Teen Warehouse at 1121 Thatcher Street or Judy Johnson Park at N. DuPont and W. 3rd Streets in Wilmington for a unified march to Harriet Tubman Park.
Pre-registration not required. Learn more at https://www.westsidegrows.org/.
