Description

Shady Shakedown is a special Fall Micro-Festival in Arden’s Shady Grove, behind Gild Hall (with a new lighting design by George Brocklesby our producer). The foliage will be turning, and the beer will be flowing, and the music will be playing! Masks will be worn at all times except when in your”pod” with your group. Social distancing and frequent hand sanitizing part of the plan. Capacity is limited to 200 people in the 1000 capacity Grove.

Headlining is St. James and the Apostles. This trio of self-described “soul-stirring psychonauts” blends psychedelia and hard rock with an irreverent dose of Southern gospel inspiration and puts on a damn exciting live show. St. James & The Apostles is a family affair. The band are all cousins hailing from a musical family fronted by guitarist Jamie Mahon and rounded out by organist/multi-instrumentalist Mike Kiker and drummer Jeff Castner.

Brother Starling is an Americana Rock band from Philadelphia. The band includes Geremiah Giampa (vocals / guitar), Brian Fin (bass / vocals), Tom Mellon (drums / vocals), Mike Rusch (guitar / vocals) and Joe Ryan (guitar / keyboards / vocals).

Brad Newsom Band features songs by this friend of Arden longstanding (who is also part of Lyric Drive and many other bands, the band from our Virtual Arden Fair this year). Brad describes the band as “Blues, Rock, Music for the Soul.”

Our Acoustic opening set is Sharon Bousquet. She is a performing songwriter with an introspective poet’s flair, the primary teacher of a self-expression and singing class called The Singing Body.
