The Delaware Burger Battle is an annual celebration of Delaware’s formidable chefs and Delawareans’ unquenchable appetite for burgers.
On the last Saturday before every Labor Day weekend since 2012, area restaurants put their best burgers forward, offering guests unlimited samples as they compete for burger fame and glory, with trophies awarded in three categories: Critic’s Choice, Alternative Burger and People’s Choice.
Burger Battle attendees can enjoy all the burger samples they can eat from participating restaurants. (Stretchy pants recommended.) Beer and wine are included in the ticket price for adults, while soft drinks are available for children and designated drivers.
Proceeds from this all-volunteer-run event benefit charity, and in its first five years, the event generated more than $37,000 for Delaware nonprofits (data as of 12/31/16).
